Personal Experience
Collin Kennedy is a Fellow of the exclusive Litigation Counsel of America. He’s a trial lawyer with dozens of successful verdicts for both Plaintiffs and Defendants across Texas and the Southwest. Collin’s clients range in size from long-time family-owned businesses to numerous Fortune 500 companies. In the past few years, Collin has gone up against some of the largest law firms representing the world’s largest health insurance companies and secured multiple 8-figure verdicts.
Collin and his trial team secured a $19 million verdict from a Texas jury against a Fortune 100 Insurance Company on behalf of a group of emergency room doctors who were fighting to receive a fair reimbursement rate for the critical services they provide in our emergency rooms across Texas.
In another recent similar case in the Federal Court in Little Rock, Arkansas, Collin was hired a week before trial to represent another group of emergency room doctors who were fighting to receive monies owed to them by a giant insurance company. For those same clients, Collin also achieved favorable multi-million-dollar settlements in companion cases in Florida and Mississippi, which settled on the eve of trial.
Most recently, Collin and his team won a rare summary judgment dismissal in Collin County for his client, who had been embroiled in a lawsuit for almost 10 years. Plaintiff sought millions of dollars against Collins’ client.
In another case, Collin helped a Texas energy services company-owner win at trial in a case filed by two of his brothers against him. The win helped save the family business.
Collin has successfully represented Mercedes-Benz USA in numerous trials across Texas over the last decade.
In a dispute involving alleged fraud in the sale of a Home Health Care agency, Collin successfully persuaded the Court to impose pre-trial death penalty sanctions against the Defendant. The sanctions award of almost $900,000 is believed to be the largest sanctions award in Collin County history.
Apart from his extensive experience in health care and energy cases, Collin has almost 25 years of experience in litigating and trying fraud, fiduciary duty, contract, negligence, and trade secret cases.
When Collin is out of the office, you’ll likely find him in his garden, fishing a stream or lake, or hiking the mountains with his wife and kids.
